Oxfordshire International Education Bureau (OIEB)

Preparing young learners for global citizenship

Since the OIEB was set up in January 1997 it has introduced into schools wide-ranging activities that have changed the ethos of a large proportion of schools in significant ways and provided much valued direction and has resulted in long-standing relationships between Oxfordshire LA and similar education authorities around the world.

Our aim is to work with schools to help them develop a coherent international dimension through the curriculum development, school-to-school partnerships and professional development. With the QCA curriculum models for 2008 already out, and the new SEF requiring reference to international work, we see our role becoming a lot more central to what is happening in schools.
