International days and weeks
Since the opening of the OIEB, we have advised a large number of schools on suspending the curriculum for one or more days and have assisted these schools to develop cross-curricular programmes to keep pupils busy throughout. Most of these activities have taken place in primary schools so we are keen to work with the secondary sector to develop similar programmes there. Examples of good practice already exist in Abingdon, Didcot (where the partnership works as one) and Wheatley.
A great place for primary schools to start is Global Focus Weeks which can be downloaded from the Global Dimension SW website www.globaldimensionsouthwest.org.uk.
Supporting resources
Should you need any resources to support the programme, you could always make a start by visiting our resources page.
Artists in Residence, dancers, drummers, potters all enhance this experience.
We have created a page which we would like others to contribute to. If you have booked and can recommend an artist, please contact the OIEB with details and we will add them to our webpage. For OIEB members, you can call Ike in as part of your 2 days’ entitlement to help plan these events
